I’m a self-taught, self-proclaimed, self-employed DIYer. I started my business, Liberty Design Services, over 15 years ago when desktop publishing had begun to take off. Over the years it has evolved from a strictly local business servicing small print shops and businesses, to a virtual business servicing individuals and companies across the United States and Canada.
I have a few pet peeves and one of them is customer service. I am a consumer myself and I happen to believe that your customers are your bread and butter. If they aren’t happy then you aren’t providing a quality service. I will jump hurdles to provide that service and if my customer is not satisfied, then I’m not satisfied.
I believe there are many forms of education: traditional and non-traditional, experiential, and the school of hard knocks. I’ve learned what I know from books, mentors and from traditional education. Each has their place and each serves to enrich the quality of my DIY expertise.
I’m also a parent of two grown (most of the time) children and after navigating the college maze with both of them, have learned a great deal. I’ve recently decided to share this knowledge by connecting with parents and providing them the help they need to do the same. I guess you could say that “helping others” has always been my business montra.
